With recent growth in production, Epic Brewing is seeking a cellar team member to work in our Denver facility. The production floor is a fast-paced environment requiring lots of manual labor and constant cleaning/upkeep. We are looking for a motivated individual that loves beer, is eager to learn and doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty. Previous cellar experience is preferred.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
• Recording fermentation gravities, temperatures and activities
• Understanding and carrying out proper yeast management
• Dry hopping fermenters
• Performing both fermenter and brite tank CIP
• Maintaining an orderly and safe work environment
• Reporting to head of cellars and cellar lead
• Participating in QA/QC sensory analysis
• Displaying good departmental and interdepartmental communication
• Working with strong and often hazardous chemicals
• Being physically active (bending, kneeling, pulling hoses, etc.)
• Working in often unfavorable environments (wet, cold, hot, etc.)
• Assisting in the handling, filling, and evacuating of barrel aged beer
• Performing Tank to Tank transfers
• Filtration on 10-yard Velo DE filter
Skills/Qualifications:
• Experience with DE filtration
• Good mechanical aptitude
• A full understanding of cleaning and sanitation procedures
• An ability to work varying hours depending upon production schedule (may include overnights)
• Strong orientation towards quality control and safety.
• Ability to multitask
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Able to stand on feet all day
• Ability to lift over 50 lbs
