  • One time contract brewing questions

Our former brewer is opening a brewery across town and had a delay on their brewhouse. We're looking at what an appropriate per batch price would be to allow them to bring their own ingredients and brew a batch on our 15 bbl system would be. They would do the brewing but probably not the moving of the beer to the brite tank. They would probably come in and do the kegging. Anybody have any experience in this?

If you haven’t figured this yet id say you aren’t really renting the brewhouse, youre renting the fermenter space for however many weeks that takes. So your average/typical monthly overhead divided by fermenter space, all divided by 4.5 gives you basically a bbl per week cost to you guys. Multply by batch size and however many weeks the beer needs.

You can add a bit extra for brewhouse use/utility costs. On a friendly basis that’s likely enough, otherwise a profit margin on top if these guys were not friends.

Not perfect but good enough for simple situations.
