Cellarperson / Brewer
North Pier Brewing Company is a small but quickly growing brewery in Benton Harbor, MI. We are a brewery and taproom located in a newly renovated building nestled in next to the Harbor Shore Golf Course and 2 miles from the beach of Lake Michigan. Our focus is crafting Belgian and European inspired beers, with a large emphasis on innovation and creativity. We opened in May of 2016 on a 7bbl brewhouse with 35bbls of fermentation space. Last year we expanded our cellar capacity to 335bbls of fermentation space and installed a Wild Goose 250 canning line. We are expanding at a rapid rate and need to add a Cellarperson/Brewer to our team.
We are looking for a creative Cellarperson/Brewer with a passion for creating high quality beers. Our new Cellarperson/Brewer will be expected to work under our current Head Brewer to lead brewing shifts, help create and design test batch recipes, transfer and package beer, CIP tanks and other equipment, assist on our canning line, sanitary fill/taste/blend barrel aged beers, attend and promote North Pier at festivals and events, and assist with draft system maintenance. Our new Cellarperson/Brewer will need an open availability to work days and nights, with flexibility for scheduling changes.
Candidate should possess one or more of the following attributes:
• Formal brewing education
• 1yr.+ working in small to mid-sized brewery
• Experience working with barrel aged/sour beers
• Extensive homebrewing experience

• Flexibility to work any/all shifts available
• Possess basic laboratory skills
• Experience creating a broad range of beer styles
• Strong record keeping ability
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and also part of a team
• Ability to stand, crouch, kneel, etc. for long periods of time
• Willingness to work in wet and dirty environments
• Passion for great beer
• Forklift experience
