Bend Brewing Co., located in downtown Bend, OR, is looking for a motivated & experienced Head Brewer to lead our expansion at our two brewing locations. Along with our 7 bbl brewpub facility at our downtown brewpub, we are opening a brand new 15 bbl production facility north of town. The ideal candidate will bring experience brewing on similar sized systems, effectively manage a team to meet our growth objectives at both brewery locations, create and develop new recipes, uphold & to continue to push the envelope on our reputation as consistently putting out award winning beers. Experience with brewing kettle sours a plus.
Job Description:
As head brewer, you will be responsible for maintaining all aspects of the production process of both breweries to create top-quality, consistent beer while meeting production goals. Applicants must have extensive technical brewing knowledge, mechanical aptitude, knowledge of brewery safety, sanitation, quality control, yeast management, and reporting.
You have:
• Proven commercial brewing experience. Brewing on similar sized systems a plus.
• A track record of developing new beer recipes
• Proven experience in planning brewery production and maintaining ingredient inventory to support the plan
• Previous Head Brewer experience is a plus
• Experience writing brew schedule & a keen focus on brew staff structure is a plus.
• Experience with kettle sours a plus.
• Awards and accolades for beers you’ve created will be helpful to evaluate candidate.
• Experience with yeast management required.
• Experience operating forklift a plus.
• Able to anticipate and support your team’s needs
• Detail-oriented, organized, efficient and self-motivated
• Experience working with mobile canning a plus.
• A focus on safety in the workplace.
