Assistant to the Executive Director / Events Representative
Summary:
The Oregon Brewers Guild is a non-profit and one of the nation’s oldest craft brewers’ associations whose mission is to promote the state’s brewing industry and the common interests of its members.
We are seeking a professional, outgoing, passionate, self-starter to join our team! The Assistant to the Executive Director / Events Representative is an administrative/office-type position that will update the website daily with related news and information; manage and maintain all social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook and Instagram); tag items for inclusion in newsletter; rebroadcast emails; manage membership surveys; and oversee events coordination and represent the Guild at all functions. Key Responsibilities:
Tag, organize and file incoming emails for inclusion in internal and external communications via email and social media
Look for, obtain, add and file events for inclusion in daily social media outreach
Manage content for internal and external communications via email to members and social media to the public
Assist in the planning, organizing and running internal and public facing events including setting up forms for receipt of information, ticketing and internal and external communications
Provide general administrative assistance
Develop merchandise and merchandising opportunities, place orders and manage inventory
Tag, organize, maintain and fill orders for merchandise and brochures
Assist with project management, using a variety of online platforms
Coordinate outreach and intake of all new guild members
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications (Skills and Experiences):
Outstanding organizational and time management skills
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Proficient in MS Office Suite, Google Apps and web-based email newsletter platforms
Social Media experience. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle during office hours and events
Valid OLCC Servers permit
Able to work in outdoor conditions including sun and rain, hot and cold environments for extended periods of time. Frequently sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, talk and hear, stoop, kneel and crouch, as well as work on your feet for over 8 hours at a time
Preferred Qualifications (Skills and Experiences):
A passion for Oregon craft beer
1+ years professional experience in the craft beer or alcohol related industry
1+ years professional experience in social media, public relations, marketing or events
Successful experience in merchandising or sales development
Ability to be self-directed, take initiative, look for solutions and possess a high degree of adaptability and flexibility
Compensation and Hours:
Pay is targeted at $17.00 per hour – DOE
Full-time, non-exempt
Regular schedule is weekdays, Mon-Fri
Some additional evenings and weekends required during Guild and Industry Events – 8-12 weeks of possible overtime
Location is Portland, OR
