  • Hop longevity

    We have some whole Hallertaus that we used for a Hef last summer. They have been in the freezer the whole time, but it has been a year. They are in a plastic bag with a clip-n-seal ( http://clipnseal.com/ ).

    I think they should be fine, but my partner isn't so sure. What say you?

    I would pull a hand full and let them come to room temp. When warm, vigorously rub a couple of the cones between your hands until sticky. Take a big whiff; do the have any cheesy aroma? discard. If they are aromatic, use them. I would guess there will be some freezer burn at a minimum.
