  • Peracetic acid pH and concentration

    Howdy all,

When measured pH of 3g/1l sanitizing solution of freshly prepared Oxania 150 (Ecolab, 10% PAA) got about 3.7.

Was that pH is too high?

    Thanks.

Not sure why you're concerned with the pH of PAA. From what I understand, it's not the pH that makes it effective, it's the fact that it's a really strong oxidizer that attacks and breaks down the cell walls of microorganisms (including yeast, by the way, thank God I never tried to acid wash with it in my early years). As long as you're following the recommended dilution, you should be fine.

      Thank you!

Just seemed I somewhere saw that pH number.
