Greetings from San Diego!
We’re excited to be hosting the Craft Brewers Conference and World Beer Cup 2008. There’s going to be a lot of great hospitality during the week. A welcome reception at the Stone Brewery on Wednesday, and nightly hospitality at the poolside pavilion will provide a great warm-up for Friday, The San Diego Beer Community Convergence!
Friday night, April 18th, from 5 pm until 11 pm, the Members of the San Diego Brewers Guild will be hosting a FREE event for all CBC/WBC participants. FREE transportation from and to the Town and Country resort will be available all event long. It’s approximately a 15 minute ride to the Karl Strauss Brewing Company production facility in Pacific Beach where the event will be held, indoors and out. We’ll be pouring San Diego’s finest in Beer and wine (wine courtesy of our friends at the San Diego Vintners), serving delicious BBQ, and giving out commemorative glassware courtesy of Boelter/White Labs/Hopunion. Other esteemed companies that cater to the needs of commercial brewers have also signed on as sponsors to make sure that this will be an event not to miss. We only need two other ingredients to make this a truly great experience.
1- YOU! Please make time to hop on the shuttle Friday night and come join us for great beer, food, socializing and networking. We have room for 700 people, so don’t be shy. And did I mention it’s FREE!?!
2- MORE BEER! We’d love to have a wide variety available for everyone. The San Diego Brewers Guild would like to invite any commercial brewery that can send beer to please do so. A small keg (1/6th or ¼) would be ideal, a cask even better. Bottled beer will also be accepted. We will have dispense equipment, volunteer pourers, room for your brewery banner/signage, and will be setting up and breaking down as well. Get your beer here, and we’ll do the rest.
This will be a unique and fun opportunity to share the fruits of your labor with your peers from around the country and the world, in a relaxed, private and convenient venue in Sunny San Diego. We have slots for about 35 to 40 breweries from outside SD, so let’s fill them with your best. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, or to get a slot. And please tell fellow brewers in your neck of the woods. Spread the word, volunteer your beer, and come have a great time! Cheers,
