  • COLA for Barrel aged beer

    Hey Gang,

I'm working on COLAs for some barrel aged product...anyone do this not too long ago? Advice? Trouble spots? As I understand it the ttb wants a statement of process...for which they have a nifty on line form now...that you can't submit electronicly!!!

    gotta love the government!

I've been in a mess with a statement of process for months now. all I want to do is move my production from one brewery to another. its like inventing the wheel over again. I'm getting use to a week rejection from the TTB.

It's a shame there is no walk-over service for SOP's, without which you can't COLA a special brew. Federally funded catch-22

Yup, there is now the nifty on-line form for SOPs, but yup you still have to mail it in. The agent I spoke with said all mail to federal offices still goes through an anthrax screening process, so it takes at least 2 weeks for them to receive it.

          So SOPs require some patience...
