  • Using Rootbeer Tainted Kegs / Tanks

is it possible to clean a root beer keg or tank good enough to use for beer purposes?

anyone tried? i hear conflicting reports.

probably not going to do this...just curious of the results

Glacier Root Beer has been one of our products for several years now. I make this soda in the same tanks as our beers. I use the same sanitation protocol that I use on all our tanks and kegs. I have never had any issue with flavor-staining. When I bottle the root beer I do switch out all the "soft" components of our bottling line, anything plastic or rubber that could absorb the flavor. I also switch out any tap lines that ran root beer, cherry soda, cherry beer or any other "flavored" product.

    my two cents.....
