  • glass inspection

Maybe this should go under Ingredients or Packaging but anyways...

Is anyone performing incoming inspection on their glass? What types of inspection, frequency, etc...
Curious to see if people are using manual/visual stuff with operators or if there is a lot of automatic inspection equipment being used out there.
    Thanks.

    A Few Simple Checks

I am sure there are more intensive and detailed measures, but we do a few things to check that our bottles are in spec. I gather a sample from every delivery and check that the weight, height and the max/min width meet our specifications. You can also hold it to the light to visually check for any odd imperfections. Your bottle supplier should provide you with a set of acceptable/unacceptable conditions, which also describes some of the most common defects.

There are systems out there that do more automated checks, in line, which would provide much more comprehensive assurance that every bottle meets spec.

However, for a general sense you are getting what you ordered, these simple checks can help.
