  • Finnings in yeast

    Has anyone ever used a yeast that had finnings in it? In this case bloom 300
    gelatin. Really need this yeast. It's in 1056 Thanks

    Never have had to use yeast with finings in it, but i would be leary of doing so. Can't give you any exact reasons why or why not, but i would not want chunks of gelatin swimming around the FV during fermentation.

    Did you have the beer crashed when you fined it? It would ideal if you could pull yeast off very slowly through a sight glass so you could make sure you don't suck the stuff off the top of the cone w/ the finings in it.

      Should be fine

      We've had that happen with Biofine- no issue. Expected poorer ADF, but everything was pretty normal.

      One note: our batch size is small, 3.5 BBL.
