  • Oxygen in Packaged Beer Workshop 04/26/09

    Pacific NW Packaging Brewers,
Widmer Brothers is hosting an American Society of Brewing Chemists (ASBC) NW Local Section 7 workshop on Oxygen in Packaged Beer.
Packaging brewers will have the chance to measure their bottles for Total Air/CO2 volumes. We'll have a sensory session with isovaleric (sweatsock/dirty) off-notes in dry hopped beers and trans-2-nonenal (papery) in a craft beer malt-forward matrix. The main thing is it's 100% community led, so come and share your expertise and interest in continuous improvement.
A .pdf is on the ASBC Local Section7 website.

    Thanks,
    Scott Bruslind

Disolved oxgen in packaged beer should be checked when the beer is no older than 24 hours. Older beer will give you false, low values.

      DO vs Total Air

      Thanks Larry,
I hope you can make it to the workshop. We'd love to have you share your insights. If you have DO instrumentation, we'll have you lead a small group.
      Please contact Eric or Ashley.
      Best,
      Scott
