We've been quoted $2600 for three barrels of new glycol. Does anyone have a more economical source?

I hate to say it but that sounds about right based on recent purchases of DowFrost - an inhibited Glycol. I paid 16.42/gal

Ditto. The last drum of USP/food grade/kosher propylene glycol we purchased was $800 + freight.

Glycol is indeed expensive, you can purchase a 55 gallon drum of Safe T Therm Inhibited Glycol at www.prochiller.com (our website) for $795 a drum, includes delivery in the continental US. Save you a few hundred dollars.

You can order by phone too- 800.845.7781 (I'm at ext 203)

Do note that a drum of "glycol" is not 100% glycol. Compare the percentages if you are shopping and use those figures when calculating % in solution.
