  • Info on Polyester flexible Silo

We are looking at some poly bag silo systems. The are made of polyester and can go up to 50 ton. Has anyone used them?

They have a 7 year guarantee and a cheaper but not real cheap. The thing I like is the bag is flexible so the cone angle can change as the silo empties. I know a metal silo will last a life time. Just wanted to know if anyone has used the Poly Flex Silo.

To my knowledge poly silos are primarily for indoor applications only, staging for flour mills, feed mixing stations, etc.....The companies say they can be used outside with the required "tent like" cover (ugly) and are marketed as weather resistant but they don't hold up. A local hog farmer in our area tried some and after a summer and a few heavy storms he quickly went back to galvanized. However I have seen a brewery use small ploybags as a "grist case", although it might have been a reused minibulk bag, I'm not sure.
