Salary plus commission (x number cents per case equivalent) plus some mileage.
    Cheers & I'm out!

I was the brewer at the brewpub and sales manager for the bottled product...kind of two jobs in one. not all that uncommon I guess.

I'll share a deal I negotiated. We produced 550-700bbl per year at the brewpub and I managed the production and inventory with a contract brewer and distro that did about 1500bbl and grew to about 2500bbl in bottles by year 3.

I received a generous base salary considering the cost of living of the area. I enjoyed a 35cent per case equivalent for draft and bottle sales through our distributor. I spent alot of time growing that portion of the business, as it drastically increased my already decent salary.

I also received bonuses for new high volume draft accounts... more than 12 a month.

      plus mileage and cell phone

        MatthewS,

Thank you for your response, it is greatly appreciated.

As far as I'm concerned the sales position is 'almost' as important as the head brewer position.

Great beer + great salesperson = growth

        Thanks again.

          straight commission only

we are self-distributing and have a couple of part-timers who get a percentage of all new sales that would otherwise go to the distributor. it works for now, but will probably have to change when we have the capacity to utilize a distributor.

            Straight salary

We feel that our field Reps must be more than sales reps, they need to be brand stewards. In that role they focus on what's best for the brands, not simply what will pay them the most right now.
