  • Hug your Local Farmer/Maltster

Just my 4th year contracting/growing/watching weather channel. It is a good crop this year for 2-row malting barley/Harrington, and prices per bushel are very favorable to the growers and maltsters. It was a win/win for our region at least. Harvesting this week.
Happy brewing everyone. Look forward to tasting your product.

Looks like a good field, my inlaws are growing wheat again this year and while their yield is down prices are high so it could be a good year for them.

Thanks!! We really appreciate what you all do. Hopefully the farmers make some the profit and not just the middle-man, unlike hop farmers in recent years.

Anyone know how the Russian drought might affect Malting Barley and Wheat Prices yet, it seems regular wheat and barley prices have already shot up.

->Started this in a new thread <HERE> as it seems it could be an ongoing issue we will have to keep our eyes on...
