NY winery/ cidery/distillery is seeking an experienced individual to supervise our bottling line and act as lead bottling line operator.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all bottling and kegging operations, including:
• Effectively manage bottling equipment, systems and changeovers to ensure safe equipment use and reliable operation with maximum productivity and efficiency
• Oversee and perform maintenance and sanitation of all processing equipment used in bottling operations
• Work jointly with management on all QC issues relating to bottling
• Review and revise bottling procedures, SOP’s and bottling safety program as needed
Other Responsibilities:
• Perform cellar work as needed
• Develop and schedule preventative maintenance for winery equipment
• work with distiller and cider maker to develop new products
Skills:
• Detail oriented with good time management skills - Excellent mechanical abilities –
Experience and understanding of electrical systems, plumbing, hydraulic and pneumatic systems Capable of working together or independently as needed -Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
Qualifications:
College Degree preferred. 3-5 years experience operating and maintaining winery/brewery or related manufacturing lines preferred. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Knowledge of sterile bottling practices, filtration, bottling documentation and QC practices preferred. Previous cellar experience a plus as well as good computer skills Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis, and move 150lbs kegs on an occasional basis. Professional appearance and manner required.
