    Craft Brewers Alliance, Inc., representing high quality hand crafted beers with a portfolio from Widmer Brothers Brewing Company, Redhook Ale Brewery and Kona Brewing Co., has an immediate opening at the Redhook Ale Brewery in Woodinville, WA for a Maintenance Manager. This position oversees all maintenance functions within the brewery and provides support to auxiliary functions (Pub and Warehouse); develops plans for preventative maintenance, overhauls, equipment upgrades and modifications; and assists in new equipment purchase, installation and training.

    Specific duties include:
    • Supports the Company’s mission statement and corporate values.
    • Provide subject matter expertise in Mechanical Safety and related areas.
    • Supervise plant mechanical and building staff. Provide daily work plans, resource assistance and oversight of mechanics and building personnel. Inspect and audit work completed.
    • Responsible for servicing, repairing, calibrating, regulating, fine tuning of equipment and processes. Test machines, devices, and equipment. Inspect defective equipment to identify the cause of error or other problems or defects. Manage Preventive Maintenance schedules and check lists. Determine and maintain equipment life cycles and prepare plans to replace obsolete equipment.
    • Provide 24 hour on site / off site technical and operational support for mechanical systems. Work closely with electrical department to provide seamless plant support. Provide problem solving information to supervisors & co-workers by telephone, written form or e-mail. Develop and implement an on-call list for weekends and holidays and those hours without direct maintenance support. Cross train brewers, bottlers and rackers on operator maintenance activities to eliminate or reduce downtime.
    • Oversee the purchasing of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment and spare parts. Maintain the MP2 spare parts inventory system. Work with suppliers and vendors to ensure critical parts availability. Develop min/max levels of spare parts inventory to reduce cost of warehousing extra parts.
    • Assist in the hiring, training and professional development of maintenance staff.
    • Adhere to attendance requirements per Company policy.

    Position Requirements:
    • Minimum of 5 years directly related work experience as a Maintenance Manager (preferably in a food or beverage manufacturing facility) and/or training or equivalent combination of education/experience.
    • BS degree with a concentration of coursework in mechanical/industrial/engineering preferred.
    • Knowledge concerning mechanical principles, machining practices and the application of mathematics and dimensions to production machinery and tooling.
    • Must have excellent written, verbal, and planning organizational skills.
    • Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes, production lines and equipment.
    • Excellent financial skills.
    • Must be able to work a flexible seven-day work schedule.
    • Able to mentally visualize and comprehend all aspects of manufacturing equipment or tooling problems, understand the interrelationships of factors affecting a given situation, and be attentive to detail.
    • Proven abilities in hiring, training and management of production and technical personnel.
    • Strong communication and leadership skills.
    • Experience in motivating staff to achieve goals; ability to develop and manage productive relationships with staff and peers.
    • Must have the knowledge of good manufacturing practices and food/beverage processing equipment. Is safety and quality minded and has the ability to make sound decisions. Understands OSHA and EPA requirements.
