    Reports to: Production General Manager
    SUMMARY: The Maintenance and Engineering (M&E) Manager is directly responsible for strategy development and implementation, as well as performance oversight of maintenance and engineering functions throughout operations. This salaried position advises the managerial team on strategic visioning while developing and managing the overall performance of maintenance and engineering responsibilities and staff.
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Manage core M&E functions:
    o Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM)
    o Inventory and Critical Parts
    o Management of Engineering
    o Facilities
    o Waste and Secondary Resources
    • Foreseeable expansion of responsibilities include:
    o Wastewater Treatment Management
    o Safety Program Oversight
    • Develop and maintain leading and lagging Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and drive data-based decision making to all levels of the organization.
    • Build and steward an organizational culture focused on safety and continuous improvement.
    • Analyze and pre-empt equipment failure modes and associated risk, including safety, business impact, and likelihood considerations. Create action plans to mitigate risks.
    • Maintain a departmental budget by estimating M&E costs and evaluating alternatives
    • Develop and manage the Reliability Strategy
    • Develop and manage Standard Work Procedures (SWP’s) as well as Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) in conjunction with production management staff.
    • Hire, evaluate, train, coach and discipline staff as needed while managing with an emphasis on accountability and team building.
    • Advocate and strengthen proactive maintenance practices
    • Develop a protocol to methodically identify the criticality level of assets
    • Maintain and develop equipment hierarchies and nomenclature
    • Develop a work environment within manufacturing that promotes trust, teamwork, quality, and safety
    • Sustain and develop a network base of equipment vendors
    • Advise on the need for replacement or removal of equipment
    • Develop a strong Planner/Scheduler function within a well-defined continuous improvement loop, filtering lagging KPI’s up to management staff and leading KPI’s across to operations personnel
    • Interface and comply with regulatory agencies
    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
    • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills as well as the ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with superiors, subordinates, and peers.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
    • A considerable capacity for strategic visioning and the ability to employ systems thinking to solve complex problems.
    • Ten (10) years of leadership experience including personnel, project, and financial management.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
    THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WOULD POSSESS:
    • 4 – 6 years of education in Engineering, Management, Industrial Design or related field.
    • Four (4) years of experience in maintenance, engineering, or similar technical experience. Knowledge and understanding of brewing techniques and beverage manufacturing equipment is strongly preferred.
    • Literacy in modern maintenance and manufacturing strategies/tools such as TPM, WCM, Lean Manufacturing, RCM, 5S, Kaizen, RCA, FMEA.
    • Familiarity with automated process controls such as PLC or DCS.
    • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Softwares (CMMS).
    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    • Performance duties require the candidate to talk, hear, sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
    • Ability to travel via car or airplane.
    WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    • The work environment is usually that of a brewery.
    • The employee frequently must work in a sterile environment.
    • The noise level in certain parts of the brewery is occasionally loud (80-90 dB).
    • The employee regularly works around high voltage, flame, hot water, and steam.
    • The employee works near moving mechanical parts.
