  • Off-Centered Packaging Manager

Dogfish Head Craft Brewery is seeking an off-centered and experienced Packaging Manager to join our growing Packaging Team of 18; spanning 3ish very busy shifts. You will work hard to ensure that healthy beer efficiently flows into bottles, cases and kegs on schedule and on time. You will collaborate with all brewing and production teams to ensure beer is ready for packaging per the schedule, at the highest quality standard and that all packaging machines are consistently ready to run and are properly maintained. You will provide bangin leadership by example to your department in order to develop and grow world class co-workers. You will spearhead departmental lean, 5S, quality, safety, recycling and cleanliness initiatives. You will keep a hand on the day-to-day operations while maintaining a sharp focus on tomorrow and the future initiatives that growth and continuous improvement will bring. You’ll get to do a lot of other stuff too and have fun doing it, all while making sure off-centered and tasty beer makes it into eager kegs and bottles.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in Operations Management, Engineering or Business Administration
    • Minimum 7 years experience in Packaging. Beverage and/or food processing is preferred.
    • A minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a packaging/production environment is a must.
    • You must be a great communicator, who is able to build rapport and camaraderie both inter- and intra-departmentally.
    • You should have a strong focus on quality, safety and efficiency, constantly evaluating work practices in the spirit of improvement.
    • You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally maneuver 200 lb kegs as needed. Must be able to twist/turn, reach over shoulders and stand/walk on a continual basis.
    • Forklift certification or experience is a plus; ability to become Dogfish Head forklift certified is required.

By and large this role will be first shift Monday-Friday; however, the successful Manager must be open to a flexible work week encompassing the working hours of your team.

Qualified candidates should email their resume to careers@dogfish.com. Please include your off-centered cover letter, resume and salary requirements. Resumes without cover letters will be hard pressed for consideration. Dogfish Head offers a fabulous benefits package to include salary commensurate with experience, health/dental insurance, 401K and perhaps most importantly, free beer. Cheers!
