  • Paying a part time salesman with commission..

I know it's not ideal, but the only way I can get a man into the field right now is part time and on commission.

Does anybody have any experience in this kind of set up?

    If so...

What is the pay system you have set up with your salesman?

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers!

Depends on how much time he or she is going to dedicate to it. Something like this: $250 a week flat (to cover expenses) + 10%-25% of gross sales. (it does depend on the level of sales we're talking about, your margins, your product price points, market demand, how competitive/dense your market is, the level of production and sales taxes you pay, what you're trying to achieve, how much you're willing to invest in your market and a few others)

I would open the conversation this way anyhow.

    Good luck,

    Pax.

Thanks for the ideas, Liam. The salesman sold for us quite a few years ago and has his notes from back then. We have yet to get together and discuss it. I was just looking for some input from my side of the table.

I am a brewpub/brewery in Columbus, NE, Beerbred.
