Hello all,
I have eight serving tanks that need to be cleaned and passivated before use. I know we did two fermentors with one batch of caustic and acid each, but how many times can I effectively reuse? Limiting factor seems to be the temperature of the solution. Then there is the amount of solution to recirculate. My ten bbl conicals took 20 gallons to cover the racking port. The serving tanks are dish bottomed. can I use as little as ten gallons since there is no racking port to cover?
Thanks for any info.

What's up!! Fellow Michigan brewer!! The only time's I ever re-used our chemicals, was when they were brand new.We hit them with 5-Star acid no.5 at a rate of 1 ounce/gal, and let air-dry as 5-star specified on label.
I know on are 5 BBL ferm. and bright tanks, I have to use at least 15 gallons of solution to keep my CIP pump from running dry, and get an effective amount of cleaning solution running thru the CIP loop.
I hope that help's some. Cheers!!!! Chumly!!
