Cape Cod Beer ~ LEAD BREWER
Cape Cod Beer is an 8 year old self distributing brewery with a geographic reach (limited by design to about 50 miles) from Plymouth to Provincetown, Massachusetts. Our forecast is to produce 5,000 bbls in 2012, up from 4,300 in 2011. We produce 3 beers year round and a variety of seasonal and specialty beers. Our distribution is in kegs and growlers only. We have a maximum capacity of 9,000 bbls and currently have 3 brewers, an assistant brewer and a year round staff of 13.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The successful candidate is excited at the prospect of managing a successful, growing production operation in a HIGHLY SEASONAL environment with a can-do, roll up your sleeves attitude. The Lead Brewer is responsible for managing all aspects of the production of consistent high quality beer based on Cape Cod Beers existing recipes. The Lead Brewer has a reporting staff of 4, and reports directly to the Brewmaster / President. This is an upper level management job within our organization, but realistically, shift brewing is required occasionally in our busier months. We are looking for an experienced brewer who is ready, willing and able to manage a team of production employees in the day to day brewing and packaging of our beers.
