  • who pays for the keg's trip back to the brewery?

    Hi all
I am intrested in importing beer to Europe (where my company is located) and was wondering which of the sides (supplier-importer) pays for the trip back to the home country.
    Cheers!

I think that depends on the brewer and the type of keg or the keg service they use. A lot of kegs that are being sent overseas anymore are disposable so there's no return cost.

I would contact the breweries you're interested in importing, find out if they have an exporter that works with your country, see if they have any interest in sending their beer to that country and start the conversation. If you're willing to purchase enough beer at one time they may be willing to invest in some disposable kegs. The kegs will increase the cost of the beer but that should be more than offset by not having any return fees or deposits.
