Eddyline Brewing is a rapidly growing canning brewery in Buena Vista, Colorado in need of a highly motivated, high energy, outdoor sport loving head brewer. We have increased capacity from less than 1000bbls/year to 4000bbls for 2012 and have expansion plans for a 40 bbl brewhouse. We need a head brewer to join our team to help us achieve this growth while maximizing quality, consistency, and efficiency.
Our ideal candidate shall have the following:
Completion of a minimum two year brewing certificate program OR a Bachelor of Science with a curriculum that has extensive biology, chemistry and physics.
Five years commercial brewing experience with a minimum of two years head brewer experience.
Experience in a packaging environment; canning environment preferred.
Experience doing yeast management including plating for contamination, counting for proper pitching, and knowledge of yeast varieties and characteristics.
Working knowledge of water chemistry and water treatment.
Knowledge of OSHA requirements and management of a safety program and comfortable working around standard brewery chemicals in a brewery environment (extreme heat, cold, and wet working conditions)
Experience using PEX, PVC, Copper, and threaded plumbing materials
Working knowledge of 3ph motors, drives, and controls
Ability to lift 50 lbs above head height, move 170 lb kegs regularly, using proper lifting techniques in a wet brewery environment
Active and physically fit in sports such as biking, boating, skiing, climbing
Non-smoker
Able to give public presentations with strong public speaking skills.
Ability and experience to manage other shift brewers and employees
Forklift experience
Ability to willingly work 12 hour days as needed and any day of the week.
If you desire to live in a small mountain town (approx pop. 2000) next to the Arkansas river surrounded by 14,000' peaks, with skiing, mountain biking, fly-fishing and more at your doorstep and enjoy both working and playing hard then we are the brewery for you. Eddyline markets its beers to the outdoor adventurist and we feel strongly that the head brewer be an active participant. Buena Vista has, despite its small size, a great coffee roastery, distillery, great schools, and a strong local business minded community.
Eddyline is canning two beers currently on a 16 ounce Wild Goose Canning line with plans to can two additional beers by Fall 2012. The head brewer will be responsible for all aspects of production from ordering and managing inventory, scheduling and maximizing production, overseeing packaging and ensuring deliveries are ready. We have a 10bbl Century brewhouse that we use to double batch into 20bbl fermenters.
