Ballast Point Brewing & Spirits in Scripps Ranch is now seeking candidates for open brewers positions. Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Daily Filtrations using a centrifuge and plate and frame filter
• Daily CIP Duties within the Brewhouse, Cellar and Packaging Line
• Work with Brewing, QC, and Maintenance departments to maintain our infrastructure and level of consistency/quality
• Sampling tanks for CO2 levels/DO levels
• Monitoring yeast cell counts during fermentation and aging
• Sampling tanks for daily laboratory analysis
• Maintaining expertise and abilities to perform minor maintenance on the infrastructure and assist Maintenance department with major repairs
• Assigned duties throughout the brewery to assist other departments as needed to accomplish organizational goals
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment in the production area
• Receiving, handling, and storing of raw materials
• Preparing the finished product to be packaged; This includes wort production, yeast handling, and maintaining proper cellar temps
• Follow policies and Standard Operation Procedures in the Cellar and Brewhouse set forth by Ballast Point Brewing & Spirits
• Other duties may be required
All candidates must be flexible with regard to shifts. During training candidates will work a variety of shifts over a 6 - 8 week period or until the Director of Brewing or Quality Control Manager is comfortable with your ability to run all facets of the brewery and cellar by yourself. Once training has commenced candidates will be put into the following available shifts:
Sunday - Thursday: 5 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Sunday - Thursday: 8 p.m. - 5 a.m.
Tuesday - Saturday: 8 p.m. - 5 a.m.
