  • 11g Home-Brew Sachets Vs. 500g Bricks

Anyone else snip open 45 home-brew sachets of yeast per batch because it's half the price of a half kilo brick?

    I don't get the pricing.

    ?

Who are you buying from that the numbers work out that way? Shouldn't be that way.

How much are you paying for a brick?

I assume this is Lallemand yeast? They might post a better response, but I think the rationale behind the pricing is that they're willing to provide lots of product support, advice, etc. to pro brewers and that's built into the cost of the yeast.

Yes- Nottingham is over $230 for a 500g brick, but only $2.50 for 11g sachet. That's the price from GWM- is there somewhere cheaper than that for the brick?

Us-04 on the other hand is $50 a brick. But I do like the Nottingham in a couple of our beers- but not at nearly 5 times the price.
