  • Peep sight glass replacement

Looking for borosilicate glass discs 4" x 3/8" thick. Need a few.

    Anyone have a supplier/contact?

    Appreciate it.

    Pax.

    Hey Liam,

I've bought DIN sized glass rounds from Max Muller before. I'd imagine that Alpha Aesar scientific supply should have them in Canada.

If it's a regular thing, I'd just invest in a compass glass cutter and a length of borosilicate glass. It's easy to cut a round, and then snap it off with a flame. You can use MAPP to gloss the edges, and voila! Probably cheaper than a single scientific peep round.

One of my guys here is a professional glass guy. I'll ask him, too.

    Good luck!

    Nat

Hey Liam, not sure whether McMaster is an option where you are, but they have everything you could want, including:

Thanks for responses. It's not a regular thing Nat. Small chips over the years leading to very slight gas leaks. Had a moment to think about it.

Philip, McMaster-Carr is the obvious answer. When I read your post, had a good chuckle at myself. I can't imagine, for the life of me, why that didn't occur to me. Thanks for the snap-back.

        Relax and focus, Liam.

        Thanks.

        Pax.
