  • Glycol question

Our new system has a 4000L glycol tank. The glycol is pumped to the outside chillers and back, as well as pumped to the tank jackets for it's lovely chilling ability. My question, due to the price of glycol, will we need to fill the 4000 L with the 33/67 mix or can we fill it partially?

Someday I will be done with questions on this brewery, but then I know I will have new questions for those wiser than me to answer.

I'd suggest that you confirm with your chiller system supplier the minimum glycol operating level.

It is possible to operate with less than a full glycol reservoir, you will need to confirm that the glycol level is high enough that you will not risk pump cavitation which will result in loss of flow and potentially freeze up and damage your chiller system.

    Good Luck,
