    DC Brau Brewing Co of Washington, DC, is looking for a qualified Shift Brewer.

    Experience in 5,000+ bbls. brewery preferred. DC Brau Brewing reserves the right to revise the job or to require that other tasks be performed when circumstances warrant, including but not limited to emergencies, changes in personnel, workload, etc. The qualified applicant must have the following:

    GENERAL
    • Ability to work in a paced brewery environment and precise doing work.
    • Flexibility, results oriented mindset, and a good attitude are paramount. Must be flexible and okay with frequent change.
    • Strong communication skills
    • Must be neat and understand that thorough cleanliness and cleaning are of the utmost importance.
    • Ability to work well independently and within a team.
    • Full availability throughout week to include some evenings.
    • Desire to learn and a willingness to be taught and instructed
    • Basic knowledge of proper chemical handling/safety.
    • Knowledge and passion for craft beer.
    • Ability to work with people and groups with diverse backgrounds.

    PHYSICAL
    • Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds and occasionally up to 150 pounds, climb steep stairs repeatedly, crouch and work in tight spaces
    • Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus
    • Willingness and ability to work safely with chemicals
    • Ability to work near moving mechanical parts and in a moderate noise level. The incumbent must be willing to wear auditory protection during canning.
    • Ability to record all brew house information accurately and legibly

    TECHNICAL
    • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant brewing experience and/or technical training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience are required.
    • Technical knowledge in all applicable aspects of the brewing process:
    - Brewhouse: Everything from raw material handling through fermentation and conditioning, including dry hopping, yeast handling and sanitation procedures
    - Cellar: filtration, tank cleaning, dry hopping, yeast handling, chemical handling, and cleaning.
    • Some packaging experience is preferred (including keg cleaning, keg filling, and canning and/or bottling)
    • Strong background in sanitation
    • Mechanical background is preferred
    • Interest in participating in promotional events and speaking with the public about the product.

    DC Brau is offering Full-Time (40+ hours/week) employment. After a 90 day probationary period full-time employees are offered benefits including health and dental insurance. Total compensation depends on experience.
