I wanted to post to, possibly, answer questions for those considering their filtration options.
I'm using a 1996 Padovan Green 3R 3 sq meter DE filter, followed by a p+f to catch any wayward DE. The Padovan has a bell capacity of roughly 24 KG of DE. I'll filter either 60 or 90 hl through it. On a 60 hl it may take 12 KG and on a 90 hl it will take between 16 and 19KG. My precoats are coarse DE, then fine DE, no cellulose.
I haven't used any other types of filtration, the DE seems to be doing just fine.
