Assistant Brewing Manager



The Assistant Brewing Manager is responsible for production of Boston Beer Company (BBC) products system-wide managing process and formulation to ensure adherence to BBC product specification. Brewing manager participates in ingredient selection and specification, Research and Development, and capital projects.



Qualifications



Education:

B.S./M.S. in Brewing Science, Fermentation Science, Food Science and Technology or related field or B.S./MS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology/Microbiology or similar AND brewing specific diploma/certification.



Professional Experience:

Minimum 5 years professional brewing experience. Prior multi-plant experience a plus. Competence in of Microsoft Excel, MS Word and MS Access required.







Brewing Supervisor



Brewing Supervisor is responsible for in-specification performance of all product streams at Boston Beer and complete supervision of hourly staff. Supervises production operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures. Also responsible for the development and maintenance of a system to assure that all brewing products manufactured by the Brewery meet customer specifications and achieve superior quality and reliability levels. Supervisor position will rotate through all shifts on a periodic schedule.



Qualifications



Education:

B.S./M.S. in Brewing Science, Fermentation Science, Food Science and Technology or related field or B.S./MS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology/Microbiology or similar AND brewing specific diploma/certification.





Professional Experience:

Minimum of two years supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Previous Brewing experience strongly preferred.







Brewing Operations Specialist



Reports to the Brewing Manager. Responsible for generating, maintaining and documenting all approved brewing processes and procedures. Leverages relationships with the Brewing Operators and Brewing Management team as well as other departments within the brewery. Leads and assists with organizational and departmental objectives in a timely and accurate manner. Will fill in as brewing supervisor on weekends and holidays.



Qualifications



Professional Experience

-Proven analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

-Self-starter, proactive.

-Highly effective multi-tasker; resourceful with a “get-it-done, can-do” attitude.

-Competent in using SAP, Microsoft Office, including MS Work, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.



Education:

Minimum Associates degree or comparable work experience; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.







Brewing Operator



This position reports to the Brewing Manager and is responsible for monitoring and carrying out the brew house, fermenting, filtration, blending processes and operations.



Qualifications



Education:



High School diploma and applicable technical knowledge required



Professional Experience:

- Highly effective multi-tasker; resourceful with a “get-it-done, can-do” attitude.

- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

- Excellent problem solving/troubleshooting ability



Physical Requirements:



-Ability to endure on a daily basis, excessive walking, standing, kneeling, crouching, lifting (excess of 60lbs), twisting, climbing, reaching

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, climb flights of stairs, work from elevated areas, and wear a respirator and/or hearing protection when required by the job.
