    Fort George Brewery and Public House in Astoria, Oregon is hiring a Brewery Manager. This is an opportunity to live and work in one of the most beautiful small towns in the world, for a well organized, established and rapidly growing brewery.
    The brewery manager will report to the Head Brewer. The Brewery manager will be responsible for running two breweries safely and at ever increasing levels of quality.
    This person must have a unique skill set that includes flexibility, sense of humor, and the ability to see the big picture with a laser focus on detail. We have a solid, hard-working crew whose respect must be earned through good listening skills, competent brewing knowledge and an impeccable work ethic.
    The Applicant should be familiar with Lean Manufacturing principles and techniques. We request 5 years of production and pub brewing experience as well as management experience. Competence with Word/Excel and general computer skills will be required, as you will be mucking around a desk as much as mucking around in mash.
    You will be the face of Fort George at tastings, festivals, dinners, and conferences as well as represent us to our vendors and clients. Public speaking and excellent writing skills are required. We expect you to have an insatiable thirst for beer knowledge and the drive to teach others what you know.

    1. Safety and Protocols
    A. Establish and update safety protocols for all duties
    B. Establish and update SOP.’s for all brewery duties
    C. Create and maintain Job Hazard Analysis for brewery duties
    D. Maintain and update OSHA notebook and brewery compliance with OSHA regulations including training, signage and record keeping.
    E. Supervise Preventive Maintenance on equipment
    F. Supervise Cleanliness and Order in brewery
    G. Supervise Lab-work
    H. Supervise Quality Control Initiatives
    I. Promote continuous process improvement
    J. Lead Safety Committee

    2. Supply Chain
    A. Evaluate, select and grade suppliers
    a. Grain, grain contracts, silo status
    b. Hops and hop contracts
    c. All other brewery supply and ingredients including but not limited to: yeast, fruit, vegetables, coffee, oysters, etc.
    d. Lab equipment
    e. Chemicals and cleaning equipment
    f. O2/CO2
    B. Inventory beer
    C. Confirm Invoices and Orders filled
    D. Reserve kegs for future events
    E. Check returns for defects
    3. Forecasting/Scheduling
    A. Forecast Production Schedules
    B. Forecast Ingredient Needs
    C. Forecast Packaging pars (50L-1/6bbl-cans)
    D. Schedule Brewery Personnel to accomplish tasks
    E. Schedule Weekend Brewers
    F. Schedule Specialty Brews
    4. Production
    A. Develop and produce new beers
    B. Encourage new recipe formulation from other brewers
    C. Produce beer efficiently on both systems
    D. Maintain and improve Cask beer program
    E. Maintain and improve barrel aging program
    5. Training and Evaluation
    A. Training of New Brew-staff
    B. Evaluate and promote advanced training of all brew-staff
    C. Training of Pub-staff
    D. Contribute to semi-annual employee reviews
    6. Marketing and Sales
    A. Represent the Fort George at Beer Festivals and Tastings
    B. Accompany sales team and representatives in the field
    C. Lead Brewery Tours
    7. Reporting
    A. Provide timely/accurate inventories
    B. Provide timely and accurate brewing forecasts
    C. Provide timely and accurate ingredient needs
