River Horse Brewing Co. is looking to add another brewer to our team.
Job Description:
We are looking for a hardworking, highly motivated, quality focused, team player to join the River Horse team. The successful candidate for this position will have professional brewing experience and a solid background in brewing and cellaring science and technique. The brewer position is a full time, rotating shift job.
Job Responsibilities:
-Primary
• Raw material handling.
• Wort production.
• Sanitary sampling, yeast cell counts and record keeping.
• Brewhouse CIP procedures and safe chemical handling.
• Cellar operations, including CIP, CUP, sanitation and transfers.
• Equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Recipe formulation and new product development.
-Secondary
• Assist in packaging operations as needed.
• Represent River Horse at events and festivals.
Job Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year experience in a production brewery or brewpub in brewing and/or cellaring operations or packaging line management. College degree and/or brewing education is not required but is a plus. Even though we love homebrewers (heck, we all used to be one), this is a job for individuals with professional brewery experience. Additional requirements are as follows:
• Must have strong communication skills with good team dynamics and possess strong planning and organizational skills.
• Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Must have a solid understanding of all aspects of brewing, cellaring, yeast handling, CIP and sanitizing.
• Must have a strong mechanical background with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical problems.
• Should have prior packaging experience.
• Should value the importance of brewery cleanliness.
• Should have a strong work ethic and the ability to multitask.
• Should have self-motivation and the ability to work alone, as well as the ability to work efficiently as part of a team.
• Must be willing to work whenever and do whatever it takes to get the job done. (nights and weekends).
• Must understand Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Office.
