Next GABF Gold Medal Winner Wanted!
Mispillion River Brewing is looking for a Head Brewer that desires to brew the best beer in the industry and brew the next GABF Gold Medal winner! Mispillion River Brewing is located in Milford, DE, We are 30 minutes form the beach and within an hour of Philadelphia and Baltimore. We are a 15 BBL production brewery with a 1000 sqft tasting room. Our focus is great beer, extraordinary customer service, and fun safe working environment. We do not have a set style of beer. We want to explore all styles of beer!
The candidate will have the freedom to develop his/her own recipes and will have the opportunity to brew our in house recipes. The head brewer must desire to build a brand, a team, and want to brew award winning beer.
Qualifications:
Organized and neat throughout the work process
Brew across all styles of beer
Strong work ethic
Desire for a clean working environment
MUST know how to talk employees and customers
Professional Qualities:
Minimum 2 years experience in brewing and cellaring in a professional setting.
Preferable professional schooling
Maintain brewery, TTB, inventory, brew sheet paperwork
Schedule brewery staff and delegate responsibilities
Attend weekly Creative meetings addressing beer/recipe development, brewery issues and production forecast
Operate brewery equipment to maintain acceptable inventory of raw materials and beer
Supervise and train staff on cleanliness & sanitation of all equipment, tanks and work areas
Fundamental knowledge of plumbing and machinery mechanics/maintenance
Maintain working beer knowledge and tasting panel experience
Train assistant brewers and work at a level consistent with brewery production.
Assist in research and development and piloting specialties beers on an ongoing basis.
Assist in the training of the front of house staff in beer knowledge at daily meetings.
Participate in beer dinners and festivals, and other marketing/promotions/charitable events
