JOB DESCRIPTION:
The main objectives of the Retail Account Manager are:
- Sell-in distribution for the Gambrinus portfolio of brands in both the on & off-premise channels of business.
- Establish relationships with and educate key local accounts on brand portfolios, sell in marketing and display programs in order to increase distribution and drive volume for the portfolio of brands.
- Analyze market data to identify opportunities at both distributor and retail levels.
- Provide objectives and tactics for accounts and distributors.
- Plan time and activities to ensure achievement of volume, new distribution, promotions and merchandising objectives for key accounts by: Ensuring target accounts are contacted and serviced as needed and in compliance with frequency standards set by management.
- Conduct targeted tasting and account staff education sessions with key accounts and distributors.
- Assist DSM with the preparation of accurate monthly and weekly depletion, goal, activity, inventory, and POS reports.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with distributor management and sales force.
- Build displays and merchandises for high volume key accounts.
- Create, perform and maintain a regular schedule of distributor ride-alongs.
- Coordinate and work special events and promotions as assigned throughout the year.
- Call on local buyers, decision makers, and key account managers on a consistent basis, building a strong relationship with customers, and networking within the field.
- Work with specific accounts, audit distributor activities, and attend meetings with local decision makers.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience working with malt beverage distribution network favorable
- Experience working with distributor management and retail account management preferred
- Analytical experience
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong presentation skills
- Organized with excellent time management; able to concentrate her/his efforts on priorities
- Sales and negotiating skills
- Has the ability drive sales initiatives with distributor representatives
- Quality of work output consistently meets or exceeds position standards
- Excellent work ethic, extensive passion for good beer, knowledge of breweries and beer styles, and the ability to grow the Gambrinus business at the retail and distributor level
- Has excellent computer knowledge and proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (including the ability to enter, retrieve, and interpret data in spreadsheets)
- Five or more years of experience in the beverage alcohol industry highly preferred
- Must be able to lift 35-pound cases and maneuver and place 163-lb kegs.
- Must have a personal vehicle
- An outstanding person who has demonstrated incomparable work in previous jobs within the beverage alcohol industry is a plus
