Karbach Brewing Company is looking for qualified and experienced brewers to join our rapidly growing company. We currently have a 30 bbl. brewhouse and will be bringing a 100-120 bbl. brewhouse on line sometime in late 2014 or early 2015. This is a tremendous opportunity to become part of a strong team that brews a very diverse range of beers including traditional lagers and barrel aged ales. Our brewery has a fair degree of automated processes, but still plenty of opportunity for hands on engagement!
Primary responsibilities will include:
• Working brewhouse shifts
• Cellar work, including tank CIP, clarification, yeast management, etc.
• Barreling beer and preparing barreled beer for packaging
• Contributing to the development of best practices
• Basic lab work including gravities, pH measurement and cell counts
Qualified candidates should have:
At least 5 years experience working in a production brewery with an emphasis on brewhouse and cellar operations
• Educational training of some kind-completion of brewing course, degree in brewing science, food science, microbiology, etc.
• Exposure to or familiarity with basic lab/QA procedures
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs and maintenance on equipment/process systems
• The ability to lift 100 pounds
