Anyone know what mill room requirements are for North Carolina? Do I have to build a bomb shelter? Also, what's the best way to vent the mill room? It will abut an exterior wall

Tell your electrician it has to be "explosion proof", then sit back and relax until you get the bill. For fresh air I would have an exhaust fan that turns on automatically when the mill runs and has a decent CFM/verses room size. A HVAC guy can spec that number out.Brewmaster, Minocqua Brewing Company

Ahhemmm...
You mean the malt "crushing" room right? Inspectors don't like milling, they think you're turning it into flour, lots of dust, much more of a hazard. Mark it on your plans as such.______________________

You may want to consider not having a room for your mill. That way you can argue that there is no way that you can generate enough dust per cubic foot to create an explosive hazard. I would build a three wall alcove and build the fourth wall later on when the inspectors are in your rear view mirror.
