  • What buffer tank to use with a glycol chiller?

Any particular brand/model that people use?

I came across this one. http://www.pexsupply.com/AO-Smith-TJ...l-Storage-Tank

Is that good, bad, overkill? I have a 34 ton mcquay chiller.

    Thanks

If you're talking about a glycol reservoir, I think an insulated poly tank is sufficient. Just buy a big poly tank and cover it with spray foam or similar (I've used foam wrap, insul-wool, whatever...best one I had was tiny poly tank in a plywood box, filled with expanding foam...)

The tank you have pictured is for potable water...total overkill for glycol reservoir.

    Hope that helps

      Thanks Nat.

A side question: what pressure do you run in the supply header/jackets and what do you have the pressure bypass valve set to?
