Hangar 24 Brewery located in Redlands, CA is seeking a passionate, self-motivated, outgoing, community-minded individual to join our team as Quality Control Lab Coordinator. This is a full-time, salaried position.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
•Track & help determine beer consistency specifications
•Work to continually improve quality of production beers
•Develop future protocol for QA/QC testing parameters
•Maintenance & upkeep of all laboratory equipment
•Monitoring DO levels of production beer throughout process
•Maintain detailed and accurate QA/QC records
•Microbial analysis of production beer & environment
•Help develop & oversee Sensory Program
•Help develop & implement non-saccharomyces fermentation program
•Present QA/QC information with recommendations for improvements to Production Manager & Head Brewer
Qualifications:
•4 year degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry or related science
•Strong lab background with experience using a variety of lab instruments & chemicals
•Experience with microbiological analysis including sterile sampling, plating, identification, quantifying & culturing
•Understanding of the brewing process
•Strong analytical and problem solving skills
•Excellent communication skills & the ability to effectively communicate between diverse members of a team
•Ability to collect, record and present data in a meaningful fashion
•Passion for experimentation & lifelong learning
