Quality Assurance/Control and Analytical Lab Manager
The QA/QC Lab Manager will Report to Chief Operating Officer/Brewmaster
and the Master Brewer.
The Overall Responsibilities will include:
Manage quality systems to assure that the beer produced during the entire process meets specifications.
Key Areas of Responsibility
1. Coordinate the Quality System; including methods, specifications, procedures, understanding of processes and application of analysis & procedures.
2. Evaluate, maintain and present data/documentation from quality systems/programs
3. Maintain quality standards, product specifications, & procedures for raw materials, supplier quality expectations, finished goods, and their inspection with input from brewery staff
4. Promote process improvement and quality assurance programs companywide
5. Audit /verify/validate and maintain processes and procedures (brewery, packaging and analytical lab)
6. Special Projects research, trials, reporting and installation
7. Train and audit operators and workers on Quality Control checks
8. Understand and perform analytical lab procedures
9. Perform and assist with product troubleshooting/deviations
10. Perform periodic product surveys, comparing outside beers to Bear Republic brews
11. Customer Complaints – assist in managing receipt, review problem beers, return revised programs and procedures in production to mitigate complaints
12. Analytical Lab – ensure all lab and on-line equipment is reliable, calibrated and standardized
13. Manage lab staff
14. Manage quality assurance budget, including analytical lab equipment and supplies
15. Manage, implement and maintain sensory panel
Terms of Employment:
Full time; Salary negotiable. We offer health, dental, and life insurance and Paid Time off.
Qualifications
B.S. degree in Food Science or Brewing Science from an accredited institution
5 years Food Industry experience
Proficient with advanced computer programs (word, excel, database).
