View Full Version : Production Manager - Rogue Ales Newport, OR

07-26-2013, 08:14 AM
Just a little bit about the brewery and what we are doing…

We have a 100BBL brew system making 90,000+ BBLs per year. We are growing. It’s a “production” brewery, although we have a pub on site. (and a couple more around town) We crank out World Class beer around the clock.

The Rogue Brewery is in the beautiful Oregon coast beach community of Newport, a fishing community in which our brewery sits right on the bay looking out to the Pacific. Gorgeous. But Rogue is not for everyone. Newport is not for everyone, as the Oregon coast weather is not for everyone; it’s rarely over 70 degrees, can be windy, rains a lot. Living in a town of 10,000 is not for everyone. But Newport is a crazy place with lots of outdoor and sea adventures available. We are an integral part of the community.

Want to be part of the Rogue Revolution? The Rogue Nation is always on the lookout for hardcore unemployables. We hire revolutionaries who possess an unwillingness to follow the status quo. We go to the front of the fight and stay there.

We have a Newport fisherman’s blue collar work ethic; work hard, work fast, break a sweat, work smart. Nothing fancy in the Rogue world; just World Class products with World Class packaging. We require humor, speed, creativity, dedication and thick skin. Expect mischief, mayhem and chaos. Only those who are aggressive survive.

We’re trying to find the right combination of talents/experiences.
1) We need someone who can ensure that every process is done to provide the very best quality beer; from sanitation, to fermentation, to carbonation; to packaging.
2) We need a leader in efficiency; someone who can find ways to squeeze every last drop of wort from each world class brew, can turn brews as fast as possible, and can help improve our labor per barrel numbers.
3) We need an experienced production manager, a CSI that can eliminate the little mistakes, whether made by us or our vendors, which affect our speed and capacity.
4) We need a teacher, someone that knows a whole lot more than the rest about the production of world class beer and can teach the crew.
5) We need leadership in our lab operation. We have a lab with a PHD in microbiology, who is also a beer geek, but he’s very inexperienced at brewery lab operations.

Do not be offended if you do not get a form letter in response to your application. If we received it, it will be read and given consideration. Please review our website, prior to application and interview. These are mostly new positions – we have no HR department so may not have the answers you think we should have as a business. That’s because we are not, we are a revolution. DARE, RISK, DREAM.
