Blue Blood Brewing Company, a growing brewery in Lincoln, NE is seeking an Associate Brewer. Come join this amazing start-up organization and get in on the ground floor where there will be opportunity for career advancement.
Primary Responsibilities will include:
• Safe and efficient wort production from milling through knockout
• Oversee cellar-work, including yeast management, tank CIP, racking, plate & frame filtration, carbonation & fermenter additions.
• Regular participation in tasting panels
• Assist as needed with numerous tasks, including packaging, receipt of deliveries, inventory rotation, barrel work, and other tasks as needed
• Keep brewery clean and organized
• Work with production team to refine standard operating procedures
• Consistently evaluation the quality of raw materials during everyday operations
• Creation and implementation of new recipes
• Quality control supervision
Top Candidates will meet the following requirements:
• 1-3 years working in a production brewer (homebrewing experience is NOT an acceptable substitute)
• Sensory training or certification strongly preferred
• Professional brewing education is a plus, as is laboratory or demonstrate mechanical experience
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in brewery packaging production
• Independent work ethic and flexible schedule for multiple-batch starts and/or clean-ups
• Strict adherence to record-keeping standards
• A commitment to helping others and getting the job done
• A reverence for microbiological cleanliness
• A true passion for beer and the craft brewing community
• Commitment to quality in all facets of their work
• Strong work ethic and enjoy physical labor
• Willingness to contribute to a collaborative work environment
• Able to do basic mathematic equations while using testing and measuring equipment
• Must be 21 or older
• Valid driver’s license
Working Conditions
• Ability to work on your feet for hours at a time in a uncontrolled (hot or cold) climate
• Ability to climb stairs, fit in tight spaces, and work on ladders and lifts
• Able to move freely including but not limited to walk, bend, kneel, crawl, climb, etc.
• Frequently works near moving mechanical parts and equipment
• Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration
• Industrial setting with the potential of exposure to fumes or airborne particles
• Noise level in the work environment is usually loud
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 165 LBS.
• Weekend or evening work as needed
