Three Taverns Craft Brewery seeks Brewer’s Assistant
Three Taverns is a dynamic new production brewery in the burgeoning beer hub of Decatur, GA, a short 6 miles from downtown Atlanta. Walkable, neighborly, urbane Decatur is the hub of beer culture for the surrounding area, and is home to a wonderful collection of shops, restaurants and beer bars, including the world-famous Brick Store Pub. With a new NSI 30 bbl 4 vessel brewhouse and 240 bbls of fermentation capacity, a new keg filler and bottling line, we are looking for a brewer's assistant to work with our head brewer in a all aspects of beer production and packaging. We just launched into market with our New Monastic Series of distinctive, Belgian-inspired American craft beers. With a mantra of “Transcendo Mediocris” or “Surpass the Ordinary”, we are seeking an inspired and energetic employee to join in our vision for a new kind of southern brewery, a brewery passionate for surpassing ordinary boundaries in search of new discoveries. Summary of brewers assistant position:
* Assist head brewer in all day to day brewhouse operations, monitoring fermentations, ordering supplies and ingredients, and having open and direct communication with all departments / department heads
* Assist brewer with quality control, quality assurance testing, assist is QA/QC program and conduct QC protocols
* Actively and continually seek improvements in daily operations, efficiency, safety and beer quality
* Must be able to multi-task
* Eager to learn and assist in all aspects of brewing, cellaring, yeast handling, filtering, cleaning and sanitizing, with the ability to grow in this new and exciting brewery
* Strong communication skills, planning and organizational skills
* Mechanical skills sufficient to diagnose and correct small mechanical issues
* Ability to lift 50 to 75 pounds
* Maintain paper work in an accurate and timely manner
* Adhere to safe practices
* Must be willing to help where needed to maintain a positive flow of the brewery
* Clear and precise working skills
* Assist packaging operation, both kegging and bottling line
* Flexibility to work irregular hours
* Able to appreciate beer without personal abuse-related problems
