  • The Bruery - Lab Assistant

    The Bruery is looking for a beer-passionate, quality-minded individual who has food science and/or scientific education to run standard laboratory tests on in-process and finished beer, process data and provide support in a functioning laboratory. This is a part-time position.

    Duties include but are not limited to the following:
    • Performs standardized laboratory tests on in-process and finished beer. Tests maybe both analytical and biological in nature.
    • Assists in the maintenance of laboratory equipment.
    • Updates and maintains data produced by the lab and brewery operations.
    • Set up and break down of sensory analysis panels
    • Assist with troubleshooting production issues
    • Maintaining a professional and clean lab/tasting area.

    Essential
    • College degree, or substantial progress towards degree, in Chemistry, Biology or related field, 0 – 2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
    • Individual will have good organization, computer and communication skills. Must be able to multitask and prioritize with little direction.
    • Understanding of GMP a plus.
    • Training will be provided as necessary.
    • Requires working in a non-temperature controlled environment, handling of hazardous materials, and exposure to complex machinery.
    • Ability to work in confined spaces and refrigerated, damp and wet environments.
