  • Buying from Canada

Anyone purchase used equipment form breweries in Canada and had them imported to the US.

Who did you use for freight?
What duties or taxes did you have to pay?
Should i find a freight broker who specializes in North American trade?
Anything else i should worry about?

    Thanks for any help

Many of us have done this. In most cases, the vendor in Canada has the resources to complete the customs procedures, brokerage, and shipping. In some cases (i.e. used equipment purchase) it can involve some footwork and extra documentation, but not difficult. If you don't have time to do it yourself, then I recommend finding a good logistics company that can act as importer, broker, and shipper. Many larger trucking firms offer this service at a reasonable cost.

      Good Luck!
