Vernal Brewing Co is looking for a full time Quality Manager. This individual needs to be a dedicated, passionate, quality-minded craft beer nerd who has 2+ years of operating a Quality Assurance & Control Program. This position is solely responsible for inspecting, testing, sorting, sampling or weighing raw materials or processed products for deviations from specifications. This includes compiling, organizing, implementing new procedures if deemed necessary and evaluating quality assurance data so that it all functions cohesively with the brewery. Our Quality Manager maintains the laboratory in a fully functioning and professional manner while acting as a scientific resource to the rest of the brewery staff.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Performs standardized laboratory tests on beer from grain to bottle. Tests maybe both analytical and biological in nature.
• Maintains and calibrates laboratory equipment.
• Updates and maintains data produced by the lab and brewery operations.
• Yeast harvesting and strain management
• Assist with troubleshooting production issues
• Maintaining a professional and clean lab/tasting area.
• Assist in many tasks associated with brewery operations and cleaning.
Essential
• Ability to start running standard tests and be self-sufficient immediately.
• Individual will have good organization, computer and communication skills. Must be able to multitask and prioritize with little direction.
• Requires working in a non-temperature controlled environments, handling of hazardous materials and chemicals safely.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and refrigerated, damp and wet environments.
• Knows how to clean draft lines and maintain a clean & functional draft system.
• Ability to handle extended periods of Motorhead blasting through the brewery.
