    About the Opportunity

    We are currently looking for a Brewing Process Development Manager. This position will be responsible for assisting with the development and formalization of corporate brewing standards, general project management, Continuous improvement and Gross Margin projects, supporting new product development, industry benchmarking, testing new technology and supporting internal and 3rd party production as necessary. This position is viewed as developmental and would ideally lead to other positions within one of our breweries.

    Ingredients To Be A Successful Brewing Process Development Manager



    •Technically sound brewer, able to do all common brewing calculations as well as individually do all common brewing tasks.
    •Develop BBC corporate brewing standards. These will provide guidance to the operating brewing teams in terms of, more specific, standard operating procedure development.
    •Identify Quality Control Points (QCP’s) for each process segment to ensure alignment between the breweries and to provide senior management with an accurate, easy to reference, comparison of current operational state.
    •Support internal and 3rd party production as needed. This could include, but is not limited to, filling in for the brewery staff, project management/implementation/training, oversight of specific production needs (beer, tea and cider), ensuring flavor and quality profile match across sites.
    •Identify and implement process improvement opportunities in support of critical company KPI’s. (quality, continuous improvement, gross margin, etc…).
    •Build bench strength within the organization with focus on developing future department and company leadership.
    •Assist in building justification for critical projects, including new technology implementation (quality and operationally driven).
    •Participate in vendor/raw material site auditing as requested. This may include international and domestic travel.
    •Build a strong industry network through participation in relevant organizations, vendor interaction and brewery visits.
    •Ability to manage a number of projects concurrently while keeping clear communication across multiple disciplines and sites.
    •The successful candidate must be comfortable on the brewing floor and able to troubleshoot individually.
    •Strong PC skills – developing tools to enable better data tracking and analysis. (Strong excel skills are a must, LIMS and Wonderware experience a plus)
    To Be Mixed With:

    •Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to brewing (Biology, Chemistry, Fermentation Science, Engineering, etc..)
    •Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the brewing industry, preferably in both operational and new product development roles.
