Title Head Brewer
Reports to Vice President, Canadian Operations

Business Unit / Location Turning Point Brewery
Overview
Responsible for all brewery operations encompassing a 140,000 sq ft facility, 7 direct reports, and up to 260,000 hectoliters of beer and specialty beverages annually including quality of raw materials, packaging and finished product, processing effectiveness and efficiency, plant and machinery operation and sanitation.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
• Plan, direct and coordinate beer and specialty beverages production activities (brewing, fermenting, packaging of cans, bottles & draught) and ensure cost effectiveness and consistency with prescribed quality, efficiency, and performance standards
• Establish and maintain brewery property, equipment and utilities (steam, cooling, air and water) in good condition to ensure quality (physical and microbiological), efficiency, and economical operation as well as compliance with policy, regulations and health & safety targets relating to sanitation, hygiene, and GMP
• Specify & procure raw materials
• Recruit, train, develop, motivate and manage staff including engineer, microbiologist and production staff
• Prepare and present reports on plant and production budget, financial and operational status and make recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness
• Other related duties as required
Experience, Skills , Qualifications and Other Requirements
• Minimum university level, BSc or Master Brewer designation or equivalent
• At least 10 years of brewery management experience
• Proven senior management level experience
• Demonstrated leadership abilities
• Advanced organizational skills including planning, and project and time management
• Excellent communication skills including verbal & written skills
• Strong computer skills
• Attention to detail
